  • Purchase and install one of the approved
    energy efficient HVAC items during 2007-2008
  • Obtain the official compliance certificate from us
  • Claim the credit on your 2007 or 2008
    federal tax return
  • Eligibility
    To qualify for this Federal Tax Credit the improvements must have been made between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2008. The personal tax credit could be taken on your 2007 or 2008 Federal Tax Return.

Did You Know?

You are entitled to a Federal Tax Credit on your

heating & air conditioning equipment.


The Federal Tax Act of 2005 states that individual homeowners can receive a $500 lifetime credit for the following:
  • $300 for purchases of a high-efficiency central air conditioner, heat pump or water heater
    $150 for installation of a high-efficiency furnace or boiler
  • A credit based on 10% of the cost of the building envelope component, including:
    • insulation material
    • exterior windows ($200 max. credit) & doors
    • metal roofs with appropriate pigmented coating
